Pediatric Dentistry Residency

The Pediatric Dentistry residency program is a two year CODA accredited program.  There are four positions available every other year.


Clinical curriculum includes clinical practice in pediatric dentistry, preventive and interceptive orthodontics, nitrous oxide/oxygen psychosedation, and care for the disabled child.  As well as pediatric anesthesia and operating room protocol, oral conscious sedation, pediatric dentistry instruction, and pediatric oral trauma management.

Residents spend two weeks on rotations in the pediatric medicine, emergency services, and one month in the anesthesia.   

The didactic curriculum includes:  pediatric dentistry theory, pediatric dentistry literature review, research methodology, oral medicine, oral pathology, orthodontics, preceptorship, cardiology, pediatric medicine, methodology in preventive dentistry and advanced pediatric dental research. Original research or other scholarly project leading to a publishable paper must be completed.
