Recycling
Non-Residential
We provide basic receptacles for recycling plastic, metal, glass, mixed paper, and cardboard. Please bring these materials to a central location for removal, as detailed in the chart below.
For proper disposal of cardboard boxes, flatten and place them in their designated location.
Send any used printer toner cartridges back to the manufacturer with the prepaid shipping label supplied with new cartridges. If you have a large number of used cartridges, submit a work order for assistance.
You can submit a work order to request addition recycling bins for active multi-use areas such as conference rooms, classrooms, and pantries. Please note that any bins we provide will not be regularly emptied by CUIMC custodial staff; occupants should sort recyclables into the appropriate central bins on each floor.

Residential
All residents must cooperate with CUIMC and New York City’s recycling programs. Separate all newspapers, corrugated cardboard, and magazines, and rinse and separate jars, bottles, and cans before placing them in the designated recycling area of your building. We also offer a composting program in some of our residences.
Cost
There is no charge for basic recycling services.
