Purchase memberships and other Bard Athletic Center services at the Office of Housing Services on the first floor of Bard Hall, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
CUIMC students are not charged for using BAC. However, fitness classes and other Bard Athletic Center services do entail fees.
If you are a CUIMC student and want to use the athletic center, visit the Office of Housing Services, Bard Athletic Center, or one of the student orientation expos. You'll receive a BAC sticker to affix to your CUIMC ID, which you'll need to access the athletic center. At the very beginning of the academic year, you are likely to receive a temporary sticker; you'll be able to replace this with a permanent sticker provided by BAC or the Office of Housing Services as the academic year progresses.
Spouses and partners of current CUIMC students can purchase BAC memberships at affordable rates. Bring proof of couple status: a marriage license, New York City Affidavit of Domestic Partnership, or Columbia University Designation of Partner (.pdf).
Employees eligible for BAC access:
- CUIMC faculty, officers, or staff
- Post-doctoral research fellows
- CUIMC Alumni
- NewYork-Presbyterian employees
- New York State Psychiatric Institute employees
- Audubon Biomedical Science and Technology Park employees
All memberships end on June 30. Sign-ups for new memberships start on August 1.
In July, some areas of BAC are closed for maintenance and annual repairs, but you are welcome to use the parts of the fitness center that remain open and accessible.
For all non-student membership packages, the cost is the same charge for both the member and spouse. For example, if a non-student's full membership package costs $550, his or her spouse will also be charged $550.
All memberships include daily towel service.
