Dr. Robert E. Carroll and Jane Chace Carroll Laboratories, Department of Orthopedic Surgery

The Department of Orthopedic Surgery renovated its research and support space to accommodate new faculty and orthopedic surgery research laboratories. This project nearly tripled the size of the old facility, transforming the space into a state-of-the-art laboratory that meets the department's modern research needs.

Project Scope

  • Complete demolition of the existing spaces
  • Asbestos abatement
  • Installation of new partitions, floor coverings, ceilings, office furniture, and laboratory casework
  • New data and telephone infrastructure and audiovisual equipment
  • Replacement of existing exterior windows
  • New electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems installed and tied into the base building infrastructure
  • Technical system upgrades such as the replacement of all horizontal distribution ductwork and the replacement of the existing air handling unit
  • Addition of a new unisex ADA restroom
