P&S Bldg. and Presbyterian Bldg.: Temporary fume hood disruption, Feb. 24
Fume hood exhaust fans will be unavailable throughout the entire College of Physicians and Surgeons Building, as well as the “stem” areas of floor 8 and floor 9 in the Presbyterian Building, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018, to allow for the installation of a new external fume hood exhaust riser. During this period, there will be no exhaust from the fume hoods; however, general supply air and exhaust air to laboratory rooms will not be affected.
As a result, we ask that all laboratory personnel conclude all work in the hoods by 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 23. Until the shutdown is over and the fume hoods have been re-certified by Environmental Health & Safety, laboratory users are instructed to avoid using fume hoods and tightly seal all containers within the fume hood or remove and safely store containers elsewhere in the lab. Once the work has been completed, EH&S will be on site beginning 8 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 26, to check fume hood exhaust flow.
