    Strategic Communications Manager

    Clara Alcantara has six years of experience as a writer, editor, and content strategist. In her role, she leads the development and execution for a range of written, electronic, and multimedia content in support of Facilities Management and Campus Services as she highlights the division’s impact on the larger Columbia University Irving Medical Center community.

    Clara previously served as a communications specialist for over 12,000 employees at Baystate Health in Springfield, Massachusetts. She received her bachelor’s degree in Communications and Spanish from Andrews University and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Corporate and Organizational Communication from  Northeastern University. She enjoys spending time with her family, mountain biking, and hiking in her free time.

  • Walter Dodson

    Customer Experience Manager, Strategic Communications

    With more than 12 years of call center and customer service leadership and management experience, Walter Dodson now serves as the customer experience manager for the Strategic Communications team in Facilities Management. While his primary responsibility is managing the day-to-day activities of the department’s Customer Service team, Walter will also be heavily involved in coordinating successful outreach opportunities with other departments and teams around the campus.

    Walter previously served as manager of the Patient Support Center for the William F. Ryan Community Health Network, where he helped create and implement a customer service and call center training system, as well as a call quality evaluation system and a departmental handbook. He also held similar leadership roles with Metropolitan Jewish Health Systems and the Visiting Nurse Service of New York, Inc. 

    Walter has a bachelor of science in business management from Norfolk State University, located in his native Norfolk, Virginia. He is also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.

  • Joan Hill-Golding

    Service Representative, Customer Service Center

    For over 25 years, Joan Hill-Golding has been a valued member of Columbia University Irving Medical Center. As a service representative at the Facilities Customer Service Center, she fields daily requests and inquiries related to CUIMC facilities, connecting customers with solutions.

  • Alia Ibrahim

    Service Representative, Customer Service Center

    Alia Ibrahim joined the Strategic Communications team in late 2019 as a service representative for the Facilities Customer Service Center. Alia is a recent graduate of Rutgers University. While at Rutgers, she worked part-time as an office manager at Rutgers University College Ave. Learning Center. She also interned at Saint Peter’s University Hospital, where she worked on a project to help reform healthcare transportation throughout Saint Peter’s healthcare system.

    Service Representative, Customer Service Center

    Christine Jennette joined Columbia University Irving Medical Center in early 2015. As a service representative, she plays a key role in providing thorough, effective service by fielding phone calls and emails received by the Facilities Customer Service Center.

  • Graham Stout

    Classroom Resources Manager

    With a dedication to advancing the student experience, Graham Stout coordinates the scheduling of Columbia University Irving Medical Center learning environments for academic and non-curricular activities. Graham tracks and analyzes classroom scheduling and utilization metrics and also manages CUIMC student locker assignments.

    Graham joins the Strategic Communications team following a similar role at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Graham also previously served as space coordinator at The Ohio State University. In that role, he assisted the registrar in coordinating academic course scheduling around impacts of campus-wide projects, including a three-year initiative to improve security measures in over 350 instructional spaces.  Graham began his career in higher education at the University of Sydney (AUS), where he facilitated the physical relocation of research teams into a multi-disciplinary medical research institute, the Charles Perkins Centre.

    Graham received a bachelor of arts in philosophy from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.
