||Preventive services are provided in accordance with the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force Recommendations (http://www.ahrq.gov/professionals/clinicians-providers/guidelines-recommendations/uspstf/index.html).
These include women’s health prevention, discussed under Women’s Services, as well as preventive services for men and LGBTQ students. All students should have periodic blood pressure monitoring, as well as lifestyle assessment and counseling, including assistance with weight management and smoking cessation as needed. Immunization review for any indicated updates (e.g., Tetanus immunization or PPD) is also important.
Students 40 and older begin screening for such illnesses as breast cancer, colon cancer and heart disease.
We invite all students to make a health maintenance/prevention appointment with one of the Student Health Service clinicians.
