We perform a limited number of laboratory tests on-site, including Rapid HIV Testing.
However, we also contract with a full-service laboratory (LabCorp) so that your blood or other specimens can be
collected at the Student Health Service.
- If your laboratory tests are sent outside of the Student Health Service, that expense is covered
by the Student Insurance Plan. If you have waived the Aetna student insurance plan because
you have your own coverage, you will be required to pay the cost of the laboratory tests and then seek
reimbursement from your own insurance plan. We will give you the necessary receipt to enable you to do that.
- If an outside clinician you are seeing requests laboratory work, we will send those specimens for you
if you bring a signed prescription requesting the tests with the appropriate diagnoses. Without the
diagnostic information, there is no reimbursement from the Student Insurance Plan.
- If you require X-rays or other diagnostic tests we will refer you to the appropriate location. Those
costs are covered by the Student Health Insurance Plan.
- If you believe you need laboratory testing, or want to know your cholesterol, for example, you will
need to make an appointment with one of the clinicians for the appropriate evaluation.
