We provide a full range of primary care medical services, mental health services, and health promotion and wellness services. Our clinical staff consists of physicians, a nurse practitioner, nurses, medical assistants, psychiatrists, psychologists and health educators. We aspire to model the quality of care we hope you will provide in your careers.
The role of our clinicians is to offer confidential and supportive clinical services to CUMC students. Clinicians who see patients at Medical Services and Mental Health Services are not involved in evaluating students for fitness to participate in classes, clinical work and/or remain in school. Our clinicians are not involved in teaching students at CUMC which results in any form of evaluation. Additionally, our Mental Health Services (MHS) clinicians will ensure that students, and medical students in particular, are not referred to clinicians who have evaluative or supervisory roles at the College of Physicians and Surgeons or at a clinic where the EHR is shared with employees who may have an evaluative or supervisory role.
The Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC) Student Health Service (SHS) is fully accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). All SHS providers are credentialed in accordance with State and Federal mandates as well as AAAHC requirements.
