We are delighted to welcome Dr. Marcy Ferdschneider as our new CUMC Student Health Service Executive Director.
A board-certified physician in pediatrics and internal medicine, Dr. Ferdschneider is adept at developing and implementing innovative initiatives and programs that advance student and campus health. She joins us from New York University, where she served as medical director for its Student Health Center for nearly six years. During her tenure as medical director, she led projects that have impacted all areas of NYU’s Student Health Center, including its most successful Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) accreditation to date. Besides serving as the medical liaison for NYU’s global sites, Dr. Ferdschneider participated on a team that oversaw the planning and execution of a new 5,000 square foot Student Health Center satellite location in Brooklyn.
She previously served as a physician at the NYU Student Health Center, Facey Medical Group in Los Angeles, and UCLA Arthur Ashe Student Health and Wellness Center. She also worked in Primary Care Medical Services for Columbia Health from 2006 until 2011; she served as its associate medical director until 2009, when she was appointed director.
Under her leadership, CUMC Student Health Service will continue to maintain the excellence of its current clinical services, and will explore additional opportunities to address the health needs of our campus community.
We look forward to working with Dr. Ferdschneider, and hope that you will join us in welcoming her to the medical center community.
