Cary Bosak, LCSW

Clinical Social Worker, Clinical Services Coordinator

Cary Bosak joined SHS clinical staff in 2014. Cary received her undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Vermont and her graduate degree in Social Work at Columbia University. Cary completed additional post-graduate training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy at PPSC and is certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing.) Prior to entering full time private practice in 2011, Cary coordinated and helped develop a hospital-based program that provided services to survivors of sexual, intimate partner violence, as well as other violent crimes at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell. Additionally she has worked in the Emergency Department at Bellevue Hospital and as a clinical consultant with the Columbia/Barnard Sexual Violence Response Program.

She currently maintains a psychotherapy practice in New York City and Westchester County where she works with adolescents and adults. Cary has a special interest in working with various types of trauma, eating and body image issues, and women’s health issues and incorporates a mindfulness approach to her psychotherapy work.
