Fellowship Experience

Our Community

We strive to create and maintain a sense of community for our fellowship and division through activities that bring us together in social environments throughout the year. We believe a strong sense of community is essential for wellness and to foster a feeling of belonging for all.

Fellow Graduation

This annual family-friendly event brings fellows and faculty together to celebrate our third-year fellows as they finish their ACGME fellowship training. The last several years have been held at a venue overlooking the Hudson River alongside the Riverside Park.

Well-Being and Mental Health

Well-being is important to our program and divisional leadership, and we strive to promote fellow well-being through several divisional activities, including opportunities to participate in narrative medicine seminars, community-building activities, and access to free and confidential counseling services. In recent years, we have developed an opt-out program for confidential check-ins with a mental health provider for all fellows.

What do you love about New York City?

NYC is my home. It's a wonderful place to live and train. The food options are extensive and endless, and the abundance of outdoor spaces make the time off we have very pleasant.

I love that there's something for everyone here—whether you're into art, nature, or the food scene. New Yorkers also look out for each other, and you meet so many people from different walks of life every day.

You feel like you’re at the center of the world. There are endless things to do, see, and experience. Also, pizza.
