STEVEN SHEA, M.D., the Hamilton Southworth Professor of Medicine and professor of epidemiology in biomedical informatics, has been named Senior Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs.

MARIAN CARLSON, Ph.D., professor of genetics & development and microbiology, has been named Senior Associate Dean for Research Affairs.

RONALD E. DRUSIN, M.D., Associate Dean for Education, has been appointed interim Senior Associate Dean for Education.

LISA A. MELLMAN, M.D., clinical professor of psychiatry, has been named Senior Associate Dean for Students.

JANE TSAMBIS, former associate dean of sponsored programs and research operations at New York University, has been named Associate Vice President and Dean for Research Administration.

JOSEPH MCMANUS JR., D.M.D., M.B.A., has been named Assistant Dean for Admissions in the School of Dental and Oral Surgery. He is now associate professor of pediatric dentistry, director of professional affairs for extramural programs, and director of admissions and student affairs.

SAUL SILVERSTEIN, Ph.D., chairman of the department of microbiology since 1989, has stepped down. AARON MITCHELL, Ph.D., professor of microbiology (in the Institute of Cancer Research), has been appointed interim chairman of the Department of Microbiology.

STEVEN ROSENFELD, M.D., Ph.D., formerly of the University of Alabama, Birmingham, has been named John and Elizabeth Harris Professor of Neurology, Professor of Pathology and Cell Biology, and Chief of the Division of Neuro-oncology. Dr. Rosenfeld also will serve as co-director of the NYPH Brain Tumor Center.

DONALD O. QUEST, M.D., the J. Lawrence Pool Professor of Neurological Surgery and assistant dean of student affairs, has been named president-elect of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.
