Class of 1937

Helen Wallace has had a productive career, she writes from her home in San Diego. “I worked for 25 years at WHO in Geneva and in the six WHO regional offices and in 36 countries. I published 336 refereed journal articles and 18 textbooks.” Her career also included 12 years in the New York City Department of Health’s maternity and newborn division and faculty appointments at New York Medical College, the University of Minnesota, San Diego State University, and UC Berkeley. Dr. Wallace, who also received an MPH from Harvard, chaired the UC Berkeley School of Public Health’s maternal and child health program for nearly two decades. She has received numerous awards for teaching, scholarship, achievement, and leadership. “I consider my learning at P&S excellent. Thank you for it.”
