Faculty Awards

P&S Distinguished Service Awards were presented to ROBERT E. CANFIELD, M.D., special lecturer in medicine, and MICHAEL KATZ, M.D., Carpentier Professor Emeritus of Pediatrics and senior vice president for research and global programs at the March of Dimes.

Charles W. Bohmfalk Awards were presented to JOAN WITKIN, PH.D., senior research scientist and adjunct professor of anatomy and cell biology, for distinguished teaching in the pre-clinical years and to FRANKLIN D. LOWY, M.D., professor of medicine and pathology, for distinguished teaching in the clinical years.

The Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award presented by the Arnold P. Gold Foundation was given to LINDA D. LEWIS, M.D., senior associate dean for student affairs and clinical professor of neurology.

The Dr. Harold and Golden Lamport Research Award in basic sciences was given to RAPHAEL A. CLYNES, M.D., PH.D., assistant professor of medicine and microbiology. RAVICHANDRAN RAMASAMY, PH.D., assistant professor of surgery, and JOSEPH A. GOGOS, M.D., PH.D., assistant professor of physiology and cellular biophysics, received the Dr. Harold and Golden Lamport Research Award in clinical sciences.

The Distinguished Teacher Award was given by the Class of 2004 to THOMAS J. GARRETT, M.D., professor of clinical medicine.
