Alumnus Lectures on the Business of Medicine
Otolaryngologist and health care management specialist K.J. Lee’65 dished out a healthy dose of practical advice to students, house staff, faculty, and alumni at the Hammer Health Sciences Center last November. His lecture, titled “The Future Business of Medicine,” covered the business, administrative, logistical, and legal aspects of medical practice in the age of managed care. Dr. Lee, founder and CEO of a health care providers’ company, bridged the gap between high-tech and humanism, expounding the need to ensure quality and cost control through an integrated health care delivery system. The talk was co-sponsored by the Alumni Office and the Columbia chapter of the American Medical Student Association.
