O. Alan Rose'36 Cardiovascular Teaching Room
Thanks to a generous gift from cardiologist O. Alan Rose'36, HARVEY, the cardiovascular patient simulator, now has a permanent home in the Center for Academic Information Technology on the second floor of the Health Sciences Library. The Rose Teaching Room, in which medical and nursing students can practice their diagnostic skills before going to the bedside, was officially dedicated at a March 27 ceremony.
HARVEY was acquired for the cardiology teaching program by the Hugoton Foundation in 1990, in honor of another distinguished cardiologist and alumnus, Richard Elias'55. Dr. Rose's gift facilitated the enhancement of the teaching room to include a multimedia workstation to guide users through self-assessment of diagnostic skills. A champagne reception followed the dedication.
