On Saturday, May 13, selected members of anniversary classes presented papers in a wide variety of fields to an audience of fellow alumni and friends. Dr. Isidore S. Edelman, the Robert Wood Johnson Jr. Professor Emeritus of Biochemistry & Molecular Biophysics and director of the Genome Center at P&S, was saluted as Honorary Alumni Day Chairman.
"EMAP II: A Unique Tumor Derived Cytokine Which Sensitizes TNF-Resistant Tumors to the Anti-Tumor Effects of TNF," Steven K. Libutti'90, chief resident in surgery at P&S. "Adrenal Manifestations of AIDS," Robin S. Goland'80, assistant professor of medicine at P&S.
"Surgical Correction of Refractive Error-Knives and Lasers," John A. Hofbauer'75, associate clinical professor of ophthalmology at UCLA.
"Future Developments in the Management of Head and Neck Cancer," Mark I. Singer'70, professor and vice chair of otolaryngology, head and neck surgery, at UCSF.
"Tuberculosis at the End of the 20th Century: The Enduring Plague," Michael D. Iseman'65, professor of medicine in the Division of Pulmonary Sciences and Infectious Diseases at the University of Colorado.
"Endothelin as a Mediator of Hypoxic Pulmonary Hypertension: Pathophysiology and Clinical Implications," Suzanne Oparil'65, professor of medicine at the University of Alabama.
"Can One Shot Do It All? The Children's Vaccine Initiative," Scott B. Halstead'55, scientific director of infectious diseases, Naval Medical Research and Development Command, National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md.
"Genes, Environment and Human Obesity," Albert Stunkard'45, professor of psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania.
Entertainment at luncheons on Friday and Saturday was provided by members of the P&S Musicians' Guild.
