Small Group Events

Small group events geared toward particular audiences are held throughout the year to support career growth and satisfaction.

New Faculty Welcome Meetings

Dr. Rosenthal meets with new faculty to welcome them to the Department and discuss faculty development topics.

Early Career Investigator Meetings

Faculty on the Investigation track meet with Dr. Rosenthal to discuss clinical commitments, involvement in service and teaching, their lab space and personnel, mentor experiences, manuscript status, plans for grant funding, and participation in faculty development activities. These meetings are generally held two or more years after appointment.

Two Year, Tenure Track Check-Ins

Tenure track faculty are strongly encouraged to meet with Dr. Rosenthal the summer between their second and third year of appointment. Tenure track faculty receive a formal review after four years, but this provides an earlier opportunity for faculty to discuss progress and concerns. Topics addressed may include clinical/service/teaching commitments, strategies for manuscripts/grants, satisfaction with mentorship, their lab space and personnel, and their tenure clock and salary structure.

Update on the Tenure Process: Things You Need to Know to Make a Tenure Bid

At this annual event, Drs. Orange, Saiman, and Rosenthal, and members of the Interim Tenure Review Committee share updates on the tenure process. Attendees should expect to learn about criteria for making a tenure bid in the future. View our calendar for date, location, and registration information.
