Joyce Anastasi awarded $400,000 to develop and offer a subspecialty master's degree program in Herbs, Nutraceuticals and Supplements

Joyce Anastasi, PhD, DNP, the Helen Pettit Professor of Clinical Nursing, was awarded $400,000 over three years from HRSA's Advanced Education Nursing Program to develop and offer a subspecialty master's degree program in Herbs, Nutraceuticals and Supplements. The nine credit, three course program will be offered as a subspecialty in any of the MS Nurse Practitioner majors. Education for health care providers about herbs, nutraceuticals and supplements is increasingly important as patients self prescribe and learn about various products from a largely unregulated industry.
