25rd Annual International Society of Nurse in Genetics (ISONG) Conference

We, the members of the Global Membership Committee of the International Society of Nurse in Genetics (ISONG), would like to introduce you to International Society of Nursing in Genetics. ISONG is an international nursing specialty organization, dedicated to fostering the scientific and professional growth of nurses in human genetics and genomics worldwide. Our primary mission statement is to foster the scientific, professional, and personal development of members in the management of genomic information. October 26-27 (Friday and Saturday), 2012, we will host the 25rd Annual ISONG Conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA and call for abstracts deadline is on April 17, 2000. We anticipate more than 150 nurses, genetic counselors, health providers, and most of whom are genetic leaders in the global community, to attend this premier event. We cordially invite you to participate in this conference. The ISONG conference held October 26-27, 2012, will highlight the most recent developments in genetics and genomics nursing education, practice, and research. A special emphasis will be placed on the ethical, legal, and social issues affecting genetic and genomic healthcare. The entire event will target all nurses and other healthcare providers with a specialty interest in genetics and genomics by focusing on the following objectives: 1) to further develop genetics/genomics nursing science through the integration of education and experiences; 2) to appraise key ethical, legal, and social issues in genetics/genomics nursing research; 3) to identify current practices and evolving ethical, legal, and social implications in genetic/genomics nursing care; 4) to identify current practices and evolving ethical, legal, and social concepts for curriculum in genetics/genomics nursing education; and 5) to develop and foster international, national, and interdisciplinary professional relationships for collaboration and support. Past conferences have hosted a plethora of professional scholars and faculty members from the global community, including Europe, Central America, and Asia. At the ISONG 2012 conference will have the opportunity to meet practicing nurses, midwives, clinical and academic researchers, and genetic nurses and counselors from the United States and the international community.
