Community Outreach Guide Grows

The 1996 edition of the CPMC/Community Connection: A Guide to Community Programs at the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center is three times larger than the first guide, which was published three years ago.

According to Ivy Fairchild, director of community affairs and publisher of the guide, the resource represents CPMC's important role in the community. "It's amazing the types of programs we're doing," she says. "We're involved in almost every aspect of th e community in terms of both education and health."

Ms. Fairchild also emphasizes that the guide is a resource equally useful to researchers within Columbia and outside community groups. "Through the guide researchers can find out what others are doing so they can share information and avoid repeating res earch already in progress," she says.

The publication is produced annually. More information is available from the Office of External Relations, Community Affairs, at 305-6359 (ext. 66359).
