New Hospital Affiliations
CPMC has signed new affiliation agreements with Valley Hospital in New Jersey and New Milford Hospital in Connecticut. The agreements will encourage the further joint development of clinical programs and information and administrative systems and will pro vide a site for primary care training and continuing education programs.
The integrated health care network the new affiliations form will facilitate high-quality, cost-effective care for patients of the respective hospitals, promoting close working relationships among physicians of all three institutions.
Affiliation activities are expected to include joint clinical systems development, shared business strategies and services, home care, clinical trials, information systems, innovative continuing medical and nursing services, and especially managed care s ervices.
According to the agreement, CPMC and the Valley Hospital plan to use the new affiliation to expand already close physician relationships in gynecology and neurological surgery. Several additional areas of mutual interest-including pediatrics, nursing edu cation, clinical practice development, and administrative and clinical information systems-also have been identified.
Valley Hospital is located in Ridgewood, N.J., and has more than 400 acute care beds. In 1991, the hospital had more than 21,000 admissions, and it boasts specialized services in neurosurgery, nuclear medicine, and cardiothoracic surgery.
