Put On Your Walking Shoes
The Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center and the Juvenile Diabetes Foundations Walk to Cure Diabetes seeks your participation. The 12K walk, which is Sunday, Sept. 26, starts and finishes at Battery Park in lower Manhattan. Funds raised go toward finding a cure for a disease that affects approximately 16 million Americans. Dr. Robin Goland, co-director of the Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center, promises all walkers will be rewarded with an event T-shirt, food and drink, and pride in participating in a worthwhile effort. Our goal is to raise $10,000 as the Naomi Berrie Diabetes Centers financial contribution to putting an end to this complicated and life-threatening condition, says Dr. Goland.
To participate in this years walk, pick up your entry form at the diabetes center on the second floor of the Russ Berrie Medical Science Pavilion or in the Office of External Relations located at PH 1-132. If you are unable to attend the walk itself, you can still participate by purchasing a JDF Walk paper sneaker for $1. The sneakers are available at either of the above locations. More information is available by calling Jennie Mendez at 304-5492 or extension 2-5492. |R |
