Fran Pantazis RetiresThe Health Sciences Director of Student Administrative Services, Fran Pantazis, will retire this month after 18 years of service. Ms. Pantazis has held the directorship since 1988, a position she reached after working her way up through the administrative ranks. Health Sciences students and employees will remember Ms. Pantazis success in enhancing the quality of her departments contact with students. She also placed equal importance behind the scenes, successfully improving services within the office of the registrar, student financial services and planning, classroom management, and the Learning Center. Her tenure also will be noted for improving coordinated efforts between this campus and the Morningside campus, as evidenced by the deployment of the University-wide integrated Student Information System and the introduction of telephone registration for the School of Nursing, the Joseph L. Mailman School of Public Health, and the P&S fourth-year electives. The Benefits Fair is ComingHuman Resources will host its annual benefits fair Oct. 29 in the Hammer Health Sciences Centers Riverview Lounge from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The department holds this event in conjunction with autumn open enrollment, the one time during the year that employees can make changes to their benefits package. Some employees may wish to change health care providers; others might have married and now wish to add their spouses to their coverages. This is also an opportunity to enroll in or change a retirement plan or Columbia University spending account. If you have questions about the open enrollment period or the benefits fair, call Human Resources at 305-3819, or ext. 7-3819. |R |
