Health Sciences Welcomes New Precinct Commander

A breakfast to welcome Inspector Jose Cordero of the New York Police Department to his new post as commanding officer of the 34th Precinct was held on Feb. 12 in the Faculty Club, courtesy of the Office of External Relations and the Department of Security.

Ivy Fairchild, director of community affairs, introduced the inspector who delivered a brief speech before answering questions from those in attendance.

"There are a lot of institutions that take an interest in this community," he addressed the gathering. "My job will be to listen to all their concerns and act on them."

Inspector Cordero brings 17 years of experience with the NYPD to this position.
