Residency Match 1995

More than a third of the P&S Class of 1995 has begun residencies in the generalist disciplines defined as primary care. In the National Resident Matching Program, four of the 156 P&S graduates who matched secured residency positions in family practice, 36 in internal medicine, 15 in pediatrics, and three in medicine-pediatrics.Nationally, 51 percent of matched graduates secured positions in primary care disciplines. The four P&S graduates pursuing family practice are among the 2,081 seniors matched to family practice positions nationwide-the largest group of first-year family practice residents in the matching program's 43-year history.Residency sites for P&S graduates range from Massachusetts to California, Texas to Washington state, Florida to Washington, D.C., and Hawaii to the Midwest. New York will keep more than 70 of the P&S graduates who matched.
