CUMC IT GoToAssist Remote Support

What is GoToAssist? With this remote assistance tool, a member of our support team can view your computer's desktop and share control of your mouse and keyboard to get you on your way to a solution.

How to Get Support:

GoToAssist is by invitation only. A CUMC IT support representative must invite you via email for a GoToAssist session. When you click the link provided in the email, your GoToAssist session will begin.

You will find the answers to security questions and system configuration requirements on our FAQ page.

How It Works:
  1. When you call 5-Help a support representative makes an assessment of your issue and decides whether to initiate a GoToAssist session. If the support representative determines that it will be beneficial, they will send you an email to initiate a GoToAssist session.  They will remain on the phone with you while this is happening.
  2. Once you receive the email, click the link to GoToAssist that is provided in the email.
  3. You will be prompted to download, install, or run a small, safe plug-in which will connect you to a member of our support team.
  4. Once the session is connected, the support representative can view your screen and share control of your mouse and keyboard.
  5. You are in full control of your computer at all times. You always have overriding control of your mouse and keyboard, and you can stop screen-sharing temporarily or end the screen-sharing session at any time.
