Using Outlook on Macintosh for CUMC Email

Outlook for Macintosh computers is part of the Microsoft Office Suite of programs that is free to current CUMC faculty, staff and students. It is the CUMC IT standard supported email client for Macs, and offers the best compatibility with CUMC's Exchange/Office 365 (@cumc.columbia.edu) email accounts.
While we realize many are used to Mac's default Mail, Calendar/iCal and Contacts applications, they not supported due to known issues with Exchange.

NOTE: Those using Outlook 2011 should upgrade to a newer version due to the Office 365 email migration at CUMC. It is not fully compatible with Office 365.

Recover Deleted Items
If there are messages or other items you permanently deleted by emptying your Deleted Items folder, you can try to recover them by logging in to Web Outlook and following recovery instructions on the Microsoft website.

This may not work for items that are over 30 days old or if an entire folder was deleted.

Your recovered item(s) will appear in the folder selected in both Web Outlook and Outlook on your Mac after connecting to your CUMC email account.
