Remove your CUMC Email from an Android Device

If your CUMC email account no longer connects on an Android device, the settings it uses may be outdated or corrupt. Removing the account and following current instructions to set it back up again can resolve any issues. Use steps below based on the app you are using (Outlook or Mail) to resolve issues with your CUMC email account on an Android Device.

IMPORTANT: When removing your email account from the app, some settings such as which items to synchronize, email signatures, and notifications may be removed as well, but can be re-configured after setting up.

Outlook app
  1. Open Outlook on your Android device and tap the menu (horizontal bars) icon in the upper left.
    Older versions may see a Settings (gear) icon in the upper right and can select that instead, then skip to step 3.

  3. Scroll to the bottom of the menu that appears and select the Settings (gear) icon.

  5. In the Settings screen tap on your CUMC/Office 365 email account.
  6. In the Account Info screen tap DELETE ACCOUNT (near the bottom) and follow any additional prompts to remove it from the device.
  7. Restart your device, then follow current instructions to set up your CUMC email account again.
Mail app
Steps below may vary depending on the Android version and mail app used on your device. For more specific instructions please check the app or device manufacturer's website or help files on how to remove an email account.
  1. Tap Settings from your device's home screen, then Accounts.
  2. Tap the account or app type used on your Android device for CUMC email.
  3. Tap your CUMC email account.
  4. Tap the menu in the upper right corner, then Remove account.

  6. Tap Delete Account at the bottom of the window (you may need to scroll down).
  7. If prompted, tap Delete Account again.
  8. Restart your device, then follow current instructions to set up your CUMC email account again.
