Update Your MC/Email Password on iPhone or iPad


If you recently changed or reset the password for your MC domain (computer login) or CUIMC email account, iPhones and iPads that have stored the old email password in a Mail or Outlook app should automatically prompt you to enter the new one. In some cases it may take a short period of time (15-20 minutes) before the device will notice and show an error message.

Follow any prompts to resolve login issues - which should include entering the new password - and make sure you can connect and send messages again. If you still cannot, try instructions to unlock your account and use more detailed steps below.

Instructions

  1. Make sure your iPhone/iPad has a working wifi or cellular connection. You can test this by opening a web page on the device.
  2. Open the Outlook or Mail app used for your CUIMC account:
    • Outlook app - look for a login or sync error and follow prompts to enter your changed password.
    • Mail app - look for an Account Error message at the bottom of the app, tap Details, then Settings, then Re-enter Password.
  3. Your CUIMC email should connect and resume as usual.
    • If you do not see an error, continue to the next step.
    • If the new password you entered does not work or you still cannot connect to your CUIMC email, make sure your account has not been locked, then continue with the next step.
  4. Restart your iPhone or iPad (see Apple's website for help if needed).
