SPSS Site License Agreement with Columbia University
This form is for faculty and staff use only. We are not licensed to sell SPSS to students, please see see the SPSS information page for student licensing details.
Regardless of when you make your purchase, the current SPSS license will expire on May 31, 2009. The program will no longer run once the license has expired.
- This date is fixed by SPSS and cannot be prorated. If you would like to receive an entire year’s usage, you must wait until May 31, 2009 to purchase the following year’s license for June 2009 May 2010.
- In addition, you must verify SPSS version compatibility with your computer(s) prior to ordering.
- SPSS orders cannot be refunded once the online form has been submitted.

SPSS Site License Agreement with Columbia University:
It will take 24 hours for your request to be processed. Please wait at least one day after submitting the form, then come to the CUMC IT Service Desk (second floor of the Hammer Library) Monday - Friday between 9am - 5pm to pick up your software.
SPSS (Windows or Macintosh) is available to faculty and staff at Columbia University through the CUMC IT Service Desk. The terms of
this site license are as follows:
One copy of SPSS costs $220/year for Windows and $325 for Mac. For group pricing discounts, see SPSS Site License Available. The license is valid for the time period 6/1/08 through 5/31/09. The price is fixed and will not be prorated. It is available for renewal on an annual basis.
New licensees and those upgrading to new versions will be required to purchase at least one copy of the installation kit at a cost of $30.
Payments must be made from a CU FAS account. SPSS is available only to current Columbia University faculty and staff.
You must present a valid Columbia ID when picking up your order.
We will accept one FAS account number per group purchase. The group purchase can be licensed under a department or a person, but only
one of the two. A list of users and/or Columbia owned computer systems should be provided in addition to the one group licensee. All group
purchases must be done at the same time. Group purchases will be charged to one department FAS account number and one licensee per group.
The licensee is not permitted to use SPSS for commercial or profit-making purposes. Its use is restricted to academic or research endeavors
which are academic in nature.
The licensee agrees not to copy or permit others to copy the products, in whole or in part.
The licensee agrees to use the products only on machines which are owned by either the licensee or Columbia University and only on
the number of machines paid for per this agreement. The licensee further agrees that the products must remain under licensee's control,
and that resale or other transfer is explicitly prohibited.
Licensee agrees not to create, or attempt to create, or permit or help others to create, the source code from the products furnished
under this agreement. License agrees that it will not reverse engineer or decompile the products.
Documentation is not included in the cost of the site license.
Upon licensee's termination of employment, or if advised by the CUMC IT Service Desk that the site license with SPSS Inc. has been terminated, licensee
agrees to return to the Service Desk or destroy at once any and all copies in the licensee's possession, and to forward written notice to the Service Desk that all programs and materials containing the products have been destroyed or deleted from all devices and are no longer in use or
usable by the licensee.
Any infringement of the site license agreement becomes the responsibility of the licensee and not Columbia University, i.e. Columbia University
shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential damages with respect to any claim by the licensee or any third party
on account of or arising from this agreement or use of SPSS.
