How can I find out about using Medline and PubMed?
The CUMC IT Service Desk can answer basic questions regarding the use of most programs,
but if you need more assistance we suggest you contact a
Reference Librarian. Also see the
class calendar; there are currently weekly classes
for Medline, PubMed and CINAHL.
Is there a public fax machine available?
You may send and receive faxes from at the Circulation Desk on the lobby level of the Medical Center Library. See http://library.cumc.columbia.edu/fax-service-policy for details.
Where can I scan files?
There are two Multifunction Printers in the Hammer building that have scanning capabilities, one in the Library Lobby and one on the 2nd floor near the Microcomputer Lab. A columbia.edu email address is required, any scans will be sent as an attachment to an email message. See the Copying and Scanning at CUMC web site for full information.
How can I reserve the Hammer Computer Classroom or other room on campus?
The Resource 25 WebViewer form must be used to reserve the Hammer Computer or other classrooms. The Health Sciences Library provides information and reservation procedures for study rooms and Harvey the Cardiopulmonary Patient Simulator.
How can I use Audio Visual equipment for a presentation?
Classroom Technology Support is manages Audio Visual equipment in most auditoriums and classrooms on campus. Rooms must be reserved through the Resource 25 WebViewer program.
Can I rent a computer or laptop instead of using one in the Library?
Students currently cannot rent computers or laptops from this campus. Many computing areas are available 24 hours for use of public computers.
