Configuring Your iPhone for Columbia Email
To set up your Columbia (@columbia.edu) email account:
On the main iPhone display, select the Settings icon:
Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Select Add Account.
Select Other.
Select Add Mail Account.
Enter the following information
Name: type in your first and last name
Address: youruni@columbia.edu - type your actual Columbia UNI instead of youruni (ex: abc1234)
Password: type in your UNI's password
Description: Columbia IMAP
Tap Save in the upper right corner. The iPhone will try to connect to the Columbia email server.
In the New Account screen, fill out the following:
INCOMING MAIL SERVER
Host Name: mail.columbia.edu
User Name: type in your Columbia UNI
Password: type in your UNI's password
OUTGOING MAIL SERVER (SMTP)
Hostname: send.columbia.edu
Username: type in your Columbia UNI
UNI
Password: type in your UNI's password
Select Save. The iPhone will connect again, and will appear as successful once it connects. You can now access your Columbia email on your iPhone by selecting the Mail icon and browsing to your Columbia IMAP account.
