Classroom Technology Support - Reserving Rooms and Equipment

Room and equipment reservations must be made via the Resource 25 WebViewer:
  • To place a reservation request, a login to the WebViewer is required and can be obtained by attending a one hour training session. NOTE: If you will not be requesting reservations on a regular basis we ask that you find someone in your department, division or program that already has a login to place the request for you.
  • If you already have a login, the address is http://r25web.cumc.columbia.edu:8080/wv3 - a link for the R25 WebViewer has also been placed on the CUMC IT home page under the "Getting Help" heading.
  • Please click here for more information about the WebViewer program.
  • Anyone may browse the WebViewer to see current information about Events and booked spaces - no login is required to do this. However, if you are accessing the WebViewer from off campus, VPN is required.
Scheduling and Reservation Procedures
  • Registered classes will be scheduled through requests by schools and course directors. Classroom assignments will be based on class size and technology needs.
  • Scheduling space for academic use (courses listed in the Columbia University Directory of Classes) is given first priority. Reservations for special events and other requests may only be submitted after academic course scheduling has been completed for each period. The dates below outline the periods when special events and other requests may be submitted:

Scheduling Period Special events and other requests accepted
January through June Third Monday in October
July through the third week in August Third Monday in April
The third week in August through December Third Monday in May

  • Reservations requests require at least 5 business days notice. Early planning will allow us time to schedule staff and equipment and insure the best presentation for you.
  • Installation of non-standard software on podium or student computers will require 2 weeks notice, in addition to proof of proper licensing and installation media. All procedures for non-standard software requests must be followed as well.
  • All classrooms can be used for study with the exception of the auditoriums. All study groups must adhere to Classroom Technology Support's scheduling, reservation and use rules.
  • Reservations of conference rooms owned or managed by other departments must be made through the owning department. We are only able to schedule reservations for locations listed on our Room List and Details page.
