Developer Staging Accounts
Service is for Faculty and Staff
Developer Staging accounts are intended for staff who update/develop web sites currently hosted by the CUMC Web Design Studio. Account holders are solely responsible for site updates, and should know html coding and SFTP basic before assuming responsibility for site upkeep.

Directory Services
Service is for Faculty, Staff and Students
The Columbia University Directory is the official central information resource of officers and staff at Columbia and the Medical Center, Barnard and Teachers College. The online directory is updated weekly and features a convenient search to find current information on reaching faculty, staff, and students.

Domain Name Registration and Vanity URLs
Service is for Faculty and Staff
The CUMC community has a large and growing Web presence. These sites are used for a variety of purposes, not least of which is marketing. In support of this, the WDS provides clients with the ability to choose their own Web site address (also known as domain name, URL, or vanity URL), and has created this guide to help our clients follow best practices for domain name creation and registration at Columbia University Medical Center.

Google Site Search Integration

A Google search can be integrated into your site, allowing users to quickly find information they need within the site.

Interactive Calendars
Service is for Faculty and Staff
Online calendars for a small group, large department or any other purpose can be created by the Web Design Studio.

Linux Apache MySQL PHP (LAMP) Account
Service is for Faculty and Staff
LAMP accounts provide access to the Web Design Studio's dedicated Linux Apache MySQL PHP server, used for programming and developing in a PHP environment.

Photo Research and Rights
Service is for Faculty and Staff
The Web Design Studio can research and obtain pictures for your web site, both licensed and royalty-free.

Video Streaming
Service is for Faculty and Staff
Video streaming can be implemented in your web site using the industry standard Real player. The Web Design Studio can convert almost any video source to the Real player format.

Web Site Hosting
Service is for Faculty,  Staff and Students
Space is provided on the CUMC servers for your department or group's web site. This includes web serving, back up and fail over. This is a for-fee service, separate from the Personal Web Pages that are allowed via one's UNI account.

Web Programming
Service is for Faculty and Staff
Web site services include the latest in programming, with a wide range of options from simple online forms, mailing lists, to complex top-to-bottom application design.

Web Application and Web Site Vulnerability Scan
Service is for Faculty and Staff
This service looks for potential errors in the web site code and web server configuration that can be used to compromise the security of data on the web site or the network itself.

Web Statistics Reporting - NetTracker
Service is for Faculty and Staff
NetTracker is an online tool that tracks statistics about your web site including visitor, content and marketing analysis. These statistics can help you fine tune your web site and see what visitors are looking for. Custom report building is also available.
