Department owned computers
typically connect to a domain, many of which are managed by
CUMC IT. Domain accounts can provide users with a secure and centralized log on for local network resources such as files, Exchange email and calendar, and automatic pushing of updates and patches to user's workstations in addition to many other features.
Service Description
CUMC IT Server Support can provide domain accounts for users in your department on CUMC Domain. Domain accounts enable you to take full advantage of the security features of Microsoft Active Directory Services on CUMC Domain for your department.
Domain accounts provide users with a secure and centralized log on for local and network resources such as files, Exchange e-mail and SharePoint spaces based on the permissions granted to the account. Domain accounts come with 1GB of space on CUMC IT servers for storing personal files; please note this space is separate from any shared disk/storage space that may also be connected to the account.
In addition Domain accounts allow you to derive benefits from CUMC IT Desktop Support for pushing updates and patches automatically to user workstations. Desktop Support can also provide you with facilities for dynamic tracking and management of licenses for software applications within your department for users on CUMC domain.

Requesting the Service
To request a new account please use the Domain Account Request form.
Availability and Hours
This service is available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Scheduled and emergency maintenance may require occasional downtime.
Cost
The domain account rate per user account is $126.00 per year.
NOTE: This cost is not consolidated into any other shared space or network resources that the account may also be accessing.
