CUMC IT Server Support offers Application Support services to clients for installing, managing, and maintaining home grown applications and vendor supported applications. Such services are provided by System Analysts who have proven expertise in administration and maintenance of web servers and database servers, and custom development in web technologies in CUMC domain.
CUMC IT Server Support can provide reliable Collocation Services from its data centers. These data centers provide a secure location and network connectivity for servers, disks, or network equipment. The infrastructure in the data centers is HIPAA compliant.
To provide a secure campus network, CUMC is blocking default open access from the Internet in to the CUMC network, with some ports and protocols (SMTP and NetBIOS) blocked on outgoing. To permit legitimate institutional business functions a Firewall Exception Request can be submitted to the CUMC IT Information Security group.
The owner of the system requiring the exclusion must be a Director-level or above person, or a Department or Division Administrator (or a designated Departmental or Divisional System administrator), or a senior faculty member, and must be the person to submit the request.
This service can be requested, and is required, in order to install a new server on the network. The scan looks for known vulnerabilities and common misconfiguration errors that may lead to a server compromise.
CUMC IT Server Support can provide services for administering and maintaining your servers in our highly secure and reliable data centers or in your own facilities. Server Supportís team of certified and experienced system and network administrators have proven expertise in maintaining servers from Dell, IBM and HP with operating systems such as UNIX, Linux, Windows and administering Active Directories.
CUMC IT Server Supportís Shared Services are a select bundle of services that allow you to share server computing capabilities with two or more departments on CUMC ITís own servers. By taking advantage of Shared Services you are free from the hassle of purchasing or leasing servers, collocating or maintaining servers, and re-negotiating with vendors when systems go out of date.
