Collocation Services
Service is for Faculty and Staff
CUMC IT Server Support can provide reliable Collocation Services from its data centers. These data centers provide a secure location and network connectivity for servers, disks, or network equipment. The infrastructure in the data centers is HIPAA compliant.

Service Description
Collocation Services can grow based on your needs. Space can be rented by “U” or by racks. You have complete control over your equipment with the speed and secure connectivity we offer from the data centers.


Standard services provided by Server Support under Collocation Services for clients include:

  • Equipment rack space
  • Help for labeling rack, cables and equipment
  • Electrical connectivity with dual power connections; centralized UPS and generator provide redundant power when the power grid fails
  • Hardware installation assistance
  • Use of network infrastructure
  • Secure fire walls and intrusion detection systems deployed at the campus network border to the Internet
  • Remote management access
  • Shut down or power up during emergencies
  • Physical security and access control programmed into CUMC ID card (in case of CUMC IT’s delegate SunGard, CUMC ID and a government issued photo id)
  • Provision of services at the loading dock, freight elevator, and crash carts
  • 24x7 monitoring of the data centers, physical security, and security personnel in the buildings with CCTV camera monitoring both outside and inside the data centers
  • CUMC IT Service Desk support during normal CUMC working days and weekends

Availability and Hours
  • This service is available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Scheduled and emergency maintenance may require occasional downtime.
  • Technical Support is available during the CUMC IT Service Desk's hours of operation:
    • Monday through Friday - 7:30am to 7:30pm
    • Saturday - 9am to 5pm
    • Sunday - 10am to 6pm

Cost
Standard Collocation Services rate per “U” is $720.00 per year.
