Imagine live delivery of classroom lectures on desktops, laptops, or on large TV monitors across the campus. It's possible using CUMC IT's LiveLecture system. LiveLecture gives you the power to telecast lectures live on CUMC network.
LiveLecture allows presenters to stream the lectures that are delivered in a class to student workstations, or other classrooms and lecture halls. Students on CUMC network can see and hear the lecture live as it is delivered wherever they are. Presenters can deliver lectures, training, or updates directly to student's desktops using the LiveLecture system.
Using live streaming technology from LiveLecture students can now have the opportunity to see things they might never be able to see. LiveLecture can broadcast guest lectures across to affiliated schools or satellite campuses very easily.
From their workstations or laptops students log on to the LiveLecture server via a URL. Once they log on, they can see the presenter and the projection screen, and hear the lecture as if they are sitting right there in the classroom. By connecting a workstation to a large monitor or to a projection display, the live lecture telecast can easily be seen by a large group of students.
Currently LiveLecture pilot telecast facilities are available from P&S Alumni Auditorium and Mailman School Auditorium. For details on scheduling a LiveLecture event, please contact the CUMC IT Service Desk at 5-Help (212-305-4357). |
