The 25th Annual Institute of Human Nutrition (IHN) Academic Retreat & Wu Lectureship is taking place on Thursday, April 18th, from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern Time at Clyde and Helen Wu Auditorium in VEC. This year’s Wu Lecturer is Holly Ingraham, PhD, Professor of Molecular Pharmacology at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine.
Three awards are presented at the retreat. The first is the Marija Chouinard Award for Outstanding Research Presentation, which honors the memory of Dr. Chouinard, a former Nutritional and Metabolic Biology PhD student and post-doctoral fellow at the Russ Berrie Center. The award is given to the two presenters who deliver the top research presentations during the retreat.
The second award is in honor and memory of Dr. Bernard (Bernie) F. Erlanger. Established in 2012, the Bernard F. Erlanger Award for Excellence in Research celebrates the commitment to education, mentoring, and research. It is presented to a recent graduate of the Nutritional and Metabolic Biology PhD program in recognition of outstanding research and achievement during their graduate training, the quality of their thesis, and the thesis defense.
The third award, the IHN Distinguished Master’s Thesis Award, is granted to the MS student who completed an outstanding MS thesis and whose presentation during the MS program was considered the top among the MS class.
