Combined M.D. - Ph.D. Program

The overall purpose of the instruction program is to prepare individuals for positions in teaching, research, and leadership in nutrition programs both in the United States and abroad.
Admission to this program depends on independent acceptance by the College of Physicians and Surgeons and the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. The candidate may complete both degrees in a minimum of six years, but it is expected that seven or more years may be necessary. The Ph.D. part of this joint degree may be taken under the doctoral program in nutrition.
