The Medical Center ID Card The cards created for the CUMC community are unique to the Medical Center, but can also be used at Columbia University's Morningside Campus. For continuing students, faculty, and staff, these new University ID cards are replacing both the vertically-oriented blue cards issued by the hospital and the white Columbia Cards. All expired ID cards are subject to confiscation by the Department of Public Safety.   Faculty, Staff, and Students at the Medical Center will receive one of two types of cards: This card is issued to Columbia staff who have patient care privileges and who require special access to NYP hospital. It is the only University ID card to show your degree (such as MD or DDS). This card type is for all other Columbia faculty, staff and students whose primary role is at CUMC. Questions? Comments?
