This division is currently based in the Department of Pediatrics sees approximately 2,000 outpatients and 200 inpatients per year, including both pediatric patients and patients seen for genetic counseling and/or prenatal diagnosis. The unit currently employs 4 full-time and one part-time genetic counselor, partially supported by a grant from the Department of Health, New York State, and partially supported by New York Presbyterian Hospital. They coordinate the FASTER trial of 1st trimester genetic screening, fetal ultrasonography, and have a staff that includes several genetic counselors.
