Staff Diversity Council

The CUIMC Staff Diversity Council develops, implements and evaluates initiatives that leads to greater diversity and inclusion throughout the CUIMC community. The council meets quarterly and is comprised of the lead Human Resources professional from the respective schools.

 

Employee Resource Networks

  • All staff at CUIMC are invited to join/create an employee resource network
  • Employee Resource Networks (also known as ERGs, business network groups or affinity groups) are voluntary groups of employees who join together in their workplace based on shared characteristics or life experiences and serve as a resource for members and the organization by fostering a diverse, inclusive workplace aligned with organizational goals.

Diversity Initiatives: Events

Past program/Events

  • Implicit Bias Event: Do you think racism is an inherent part of the fabric of America? Are all Americans, regardless of race, complicit in the perpetuation of racial biases in our country? How much has changed in race relations since Myrdal conducted his study, and what hasn't changed much at all? Screening of American Denial followed by a discussion about racial and other types of identity/social group bias. For more information, please view the reducing Implicit Bias handout (PDF).
  • Equi-teas; "Equi-teas" are gatherings that provide a space for students, faculty, and staff to discuss issues and topics related to power, provilege, diversity, and equity as they manifest at Mailman and in our communities here and abroad.
