Woodhull Hospital:

This is a 393 bed hospital located 9 miles from the parent institution. It serves the working population in the low and middle socioeconomic classes in the community. It is mainly a general surgery rotation with greater exposure to basic laparoscopic surgery.

There are out-patient clinics for the different disciplines all within the hospital premises where patients get their work-up and follow-up similar to Harlem Hospital and always under the supervision of supervising attending.

There is:

  • A Weekly Morbidity and Mortality Conference on Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon.
  • A combined Surgery/Radiology Conference from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Thursdays
  • The Chairman’s Teaching Rounds from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Thursdays
  • A Tumor Board Conference held on the last Wednesday of the month from 12:00 noon – 1:00 p.m.

The residents in Woodhull have protected time to attend these scheduled conferences. A copy of the schedule for the past year is available for review.
