About this site: Columbia University Medical Center Faculty Recruitment.
We have gathered all of the resources
which a department needs to successfully
comply with University hiring guidelines in
one place, in order to assure that CUMC
engages in the strategic hiring of new
faculty for both research and clinical
positions. There also are convenient links
to policies and forms. As the web site
develops in the coming year, many of the
forms will become web-based and interactive.
Under CUMC’s guidelines adopted in June,
2005, all full time recruitment for tenure
or tenure track faculty, must follow the
Steps for Hiring, which include the approval
by the Department Chair or the Dean for the
request to recruit and the filing of a
business plan for the position. Offer
letters may not be sent unless the offer has
been approved in advance and signed by the
Executive Vice President for Health and
Biomedical Sciences.
