Cleaning - Classrooms
Unsafe conditions in any instructional space should be immediately reported to the Service Center (212-305-HELP) or to Public Safety (212-305-7979)
Routine classroom cleaning is performed Monday through Friday between the hours of 4:00 PM and 12:30 AM

| Empty all trash receptacles, replace liners as necessary | Daily (M-F) |
| Wash all chalkboards and chalk trays. Restock chalk. | Daily (M-F) |
| Sweep or dry mop hard flooring | Daily (M-F) |
| Broom sweep carpeted areas | Daily (M-F) |
| Sweep and damp mop hard flooring | Weekly |
| Arrange classroom furniture in a neat and orderly fashion | Daily (M-F) |
| Remove finger marks from switch plates, entrances, and doors | Weekly |
| Dust windowsills, doors, railings, and other surfaces within hand-high reach | Weekly |
| Damp wipe exterior of waste receptacles | Monthly |
| Thoroughly vacuum all carpeted areas | Weekly |
There is no charge for routine custodial maintenance of instructional space.
