Criteria & Priority
Full-time Columbia, faculty, adjunct Columbia faculty, and administrators Grade 106 and above who reside outside Manhattan are eligible to apply for University commuter parking.
Employees who are not eligible for an on-site parking permit or who are on the waiting list for a permit due to limited availability may elect to park at one of the many parking facilities in the area. If so, employees may establish a Transit & Parking Reimbursement Accounts. To learn more, you may also contact the HR Benefits Service Center at 212-851-7000.
The CUMC parking lots are currently at capacity for parking. If you are new employee to CUMC please give your information to firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to the waiting list.
Parking for Columbia Students
Parking in Medical Center garages is not available for Columbia students except those enrolled in Saturday classes, who may park from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays on class days only. A current class schedule must be provided.
Parking in New York City can be a challenge. Most of the prime spots on the street get filled-up pretty quickly and you need to know about special New York City parking rules like "alternate side of the street parking days." Metered and non-metered parking is available on New York City streets as directed by signs posted by the New York City Department of Transportation (DOT).
Fortunately, there are more than 2,300 parking facilities in the City. Note that not all locations are open 24-hours.
Below is a listing of commercial parking garages near CUMC campus vicinity. Some of these places offer discounts to CUMC faculty, staff, and students. For a list of garages, click here.
