Columbia University Medical Center Facilities provides many services (e.g., basic custodial, maintenance/repair of public spaces and common areas) at no direct cost to academic and administrative departments.
There are some supplemental services, however, for which Columbia University Medical Center Facilities must charge a fee in order to recover its costs. Services that require a fee include repair or maintenance of department owned spaces, supplementary custodial service (i.e., in addition to the basic services described in the Custodial Services section of this web site), or any services in support of a special event. In these cases, CUMC Facilities assesses a rate for the labor (including associated fringe and management costs) and materials if necessary. A table of these rates is included below to help provide a general sense of cost.
Please keep in mind that the actual cost for any service request will depend on several factors, including the amount of time and the cost of associated materials required to complete the job. There is a one-hour minimum labor charge for all jobs.
If you require an estimate prior to work being authorized, please select this option when filling out your online service request.
*Plus the cost of associated materials, if applicable.
